End of June
Wimbledon season is here and it is usually raining at this time of year – but not this time. Outside it is baking and we are forecast to have a mini heat wave for the rest of the week at least. Perhaps this is the height of the English summer!
Our youngest, Emilia, is now 1 month old, time does indeed fly! We are now settling down as a family of 4 (plus cat!) and are trying to focus on the next few months, particularly as we plan to be in Germany by the end of September. Sorry for the lack of communication recently, our only excuse is that we have been quite busy (who isn’t?) with 3 birthdays (Emeline was 5 and Justin was 40!)
Many thanks for your cards, messages and prayers for the birth of Emilia. And thank you also for your continued prayers for our future – more than anything we need your prayers as this is what will unlock everything else, such as the practical arrangements (Emeline is due to go to school in September but we are praying that we will be in Germany before she has to attend school in the UK) and finance.
We are extremely grateful for those who have committed to supporting us financially – since February we have raised/had commitments of approximately 20% of our total support required before we can move and start our church plant work in Rostock. This still means we need to raise 80%. Please consider if you would be willing to support us on a monthly basis. To help we have provided below a breakdown of the giving we are looking for. If you think you can help please contact us, we can then send you the form for completion.
20 people at £5, 30 people at £10, 40 people at £20, 30 people at £30, 20 people at £40.
One of the key prayer needs relates to Justin’s job and the timing of him leaving. Unfortunately, it is not so simple as him handing in his notice as, in fact, it is likely that his job will be a casualty of the department being restructured. They are however, keen for him to stay and retain him on a temporary basis but this would need to work with the timing of us going to Germany – there is the danger of Justin’s contract expiring but with us still not in a position to go to Germany.
Every blessing
The Sismeys
